Enramycin has strong activity against Gram positive bacteria, especially against harmful Clostridium in the intestine. After long-term use, it is not easy to develop drug resistance because it changes the bacterial community in the intestine, so the utilization of nutrients in feed is effective, which can promote weight gain and improve feed conversion rate in pigs and chickens. Enramycin has an oral LD50 of 10g per kilogram of body weight for both mice and rats, and 522.9mg for 4-week-old broiler chickens. However, when taken orally, the LD50 of enrofloxacin (crude crystal) used for feed addition is 11g per kilogram of body weight for rats and mice, and 8g for broiler chickens. The teratogenic and mutagenic tests were negative. After oral administration, enrofloxacin only acts in the digestive tract and is not easily absorbed. After 6-12 hours of administration to broiler chickens, the amount of enrofloxacin excreted in their feces reached 87.0% to 100%, with very low residual levels in piglets. After one week of continuous use, the residual amount in all tissues on the day of discontinuation was less than 25 μ g/kg. Enramycin has no toxic effects on crops, fish, and the environment after being excreted from chicken and pig feces. Therefore, it is a safe and effective animal specific antibiotic. Enramycin maintains a potency of over 90% after being stored at 40 ºC for 4 months, but its potency decreases when exposed to high humidity. Enlamycin added to feed should be stored at room temperature for 12 weeks with a potency of no less than 90%.
