Autooxidation or photooxidation of the triterpenoid compound salidroside in the gastrointestinal pathological secretions of sperm whales. Has a strong dragon saliva aroma and a soft woody scent. Melting point of 75-76 ºC. Boiling point: 102-106 ºC (0.0lkPa). Using the diterpenoid compound Perilla frutescens alcohol obtained from the distillation residue of Salvia sclarea as raw material, it is photo oxidized and degraded into Perilla lactone, then reduced to diol, and finally dehydrated. Due to the shortage of Perilla frutescens resources and price factors, orange blossom tertiary alcohol is now commonly used as raw material through allyl rearrangement bromination, followed by reaction and hydrolysis to obtain high acacia acid. After acidic internal esterification and the same treatment as above, racemic berberine ether can be obtained. Mainly used for perfume essence and high-grade cosmetics essence.
