Nitenpyram belongs to the class of neonicotinoids with widespread use in veterinary medicines and crop production. It is effective in protecting crops as it acts against piercing-sucking pests.
Application&Function
Nitenpyram may be used as a reference standard for the determination of nitenpyram in vegetables and fruits using solid phase extraction coupled with liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS).

1. Mode of action: Nitenpyram acts on the nervous system of insects. By inhibiting the activity of acetylcholinesterase, it disrupts nerve transmission, causing pests to become abnormally excited, convulse and eventually die from paralysis. This mode of action has no cross-resistance with other insecticides such as organophosphates and carbamates.
2. Target pests: It mainly controls the following pests: aphids, thrips, whiteflies, leafhoppers, rice planthoppers and other sucking pests. It is suitable for use on various crops such as rice, vegetables and fruit trees.
