Antibacterial effect:
Mechanism of action: Combining with the bacterial 50S ribosomal subunit, it inhibits peptide chain elongation and blocks protein synthesis (belonging to antibacterial agents, can kill bacteria at high concentrations).
Antibacterial spectrum:
Gram positive bacteria: Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus pyogenes, Staphylococcus aureus (methicillin-resistant strains).
Gram negative bacteria: Haemophilus influenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae.

Respiratory infection:

3. Pharmacokinetic characteristics
Oral absorption: The bioavailability is about 37%, and food can reduce absorption (recommended to be taken on an empty stomach).
Organizational distribution:
Rapid infiltration into tissues, with significantly higher concentrations in areas such as the lungs, tonsils, and prostate than in plasma.
Half life of up to 68 hours, supports short course treatment (such as 3-day or 5-day regimen).
Metabolism and excretion:
Mainly metabolized by the liver as inactive products, excreted through bile (about 50%), and a small amount excreted through the kidneys.
Patients with renal insufficiency generally do not need to adjust the dosage, and those with severe liver disease should use it with caution.
