Clindamycin phosphate (CAS 24729-96-2), also known as Clindamycin Phosphate, is a lincosamide antibiotic with significant antibacterial activity. After entering the body, it hydrolyzes into clindamycin, which has significant antibacterial effects on Gram positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus, as well as anaerobic bacteria such as Bacteroidetes and Clostridium. This medication is particularly suitable for patients who are allergic to penicillin and cephalosporin antibiotics, as there is no cross allergic reaction between it and these antibiotics.
Application&Function
Pharmacological characteristics
Mechanism of action: Clindamycin phosphate is a chemically semi synthetic derivative of clindamycin, which has no antibacterial activity in vitro. After entering the body, it quickly hydrolyzes into clindamycin with antibacterial activity.
Antibacterial spectrum: It has significant antibacterial activity against gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus, as well as against the genera Bacteroidetes and Clostridium in anaerobic bacteria. It mainly has strong antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and anaerobic bacteria.
Advantages: No cross allergic reactions with penicillin and cephalosporin antibiotics, can be used for people allergic to penicillin; Compared with lincomycin, its antibacterial effect is 4-8 times stronger, with good absorption, high bone concentration, and good therapeutic effect on anaerobic bacterial infections; Lipid solubility and permeability are superior to clindamycin, and can be taken orally, intramuscularly, or intravenously.
