Tartrate guitarimycin belongs to the 16 membered macrocyclic lactone class of antibiotics and exerts antibacterial effects through the following ways:
Inhibition of bacterial protein synthesis: binds to the 50S subunit of bacterial ribosomes, blocking peptide chain elongation.
Antibacterial spectrum: mainly targeting Gram positive bacteria (such as Staphylococcus and Streptococcus) and some Gram negative bacteria (such as Mycoplasma and Chlamydia).
Guitarimycin tartrate is a macrolide antibiotic, also known as guitarimycin tartrate or tartaric acid crystal white mold. Its antibacterial spectrum is similar to erythromycin, and it is effective against Gram positive bacteria, some negative bacteria, spirochetes, mycoplasma, and Rickettsia in Chemicalbook. The antibacterial effect of this product on the vast majority of Gram positive bacteria is slightly weaker than erythromycin, and it is more effective than penicillin, erythromycin, and tetracycline on drug-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. Used for treating upper respiratory tract infections, pneumonia, gonorrhea, acute mastitis, pertussis, tonsillitis, sepsis, etc
