Fipronil, also known as (RS) -5-amino-1- (2,6-dichloro-4-trifluoromethylphenyl) -4-trifluoromethanesulfonylpyrazole-3-nitrile, is a novel phenylpyrazole insecticide developed by the French company Rhone Poulenc in 1987. Fipronil has a wide insecticidal spectrum and can interfere with the chloride ion channels regulated by gamma aminobutyric acid in various insects such as Lepidoptera and Diptera, affecting the function of the insect's central nervous system and ultimately leading to insect death. Therefore, it is applied to prevent and control various crop pests such as rice and vegetables. In China, fipronil, as one of the 15 promising alternative pesticides, has been widely promoted and used in multiple provinces and regions. However, due to its biological toxicity and slow degradation in the environment, most pesticide formulations containing fipronil were discontinued from sale and use
