1. Pharmacological mechanism of action
Activation of alpha adrenergic receptors:
Selective action on the alpha 2B adrenergic receptor subtype (EC50=4 μ M) activates the alpha receptors in nasal mucosal blood vessels, causing vasoconstriction, reducing blood flow, and alleviating inflammatory congestion and edema.
It also has a certain effect on the alpha 1 receptor, but the main mechanism is the efficient activation of the alpha 2B subtype.
2. Indications
Relief of symptoms related to nasal diseases:
Nasal congestion caused by acute and chronic rhinitis, sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, and hypertrophic rhinitis has the characteristics of fast onset (within 15 minutes) and long-lasting effect (6-8 hours).
Reduce nasal mucosal congestion and swelling, and improve ventilation function.
