Selamectin is a new generation derivative of avermectin, which has anti parasitic effects.
Selamectin can resist parasites and prevent infections from filariasis, lymphatic filariasis, and nematodes. It can also inhibit P-glycoprotein. Silamycin interferes with the chloride ion channels controlled by glutamate in the insect body, causing rapid, lethal, and non spasmodic neuromuscular paralysis. It has killing activity against parasites in vivo (nematodes) and in vitro (arthropods).
