Enzalutamide works through a triple mechanism: (1) competitively inhibits the binding of androgens to receptors; (2) Block AR nuclear translocation to prevent it from entering the nucleus; (3) Inhibiting the binding of AR to DNA blocks the expression of genes that promote tumor growth. Clinical studies have shown that enzalutamide can significantly prolong progression free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS), and reduce the risk of cancer metastasis. This drug is typically used for the treatment of other hormone therapies that have failed, and compared to traditional anti androgen drugs such as bicalutamide, it has lower resistance and longer lasting efficacy.
